Combi-Filter system (Active
Regeneration)
Designed to remove soot and particulate matter from diesel engine
exhaust. The exhaust gas is passed through a ceramic substrate which
traps the particulates, the captured matter is then actively burned
off to clean or regenerate the filter via an externally mounted
regenerating station.
The Combi filter system will typically remove 90%+
of the PM from the exhaust gas, and can be combined with the AZ
series catalyst for maximum exhaust cleaning, which will meet the
most stringent applications/regulation (reductions of PM by 96%,
CO by 99% and JC by 96% can be achieved).
The filtered particles are stored in the filter until it is plugged
into a regenerating station - typically on a daily basis or overnight.
Two model types are available, K series which requires
an 8 hour regeneration cycle or S series with fast regeneration
- 45 minutes.
The Combifilter system is ideally suited for use on equipment which
is operated indoors, or, in confined spaces such as fork lift trucks,
where the benefits of diesel are required but with the cleanliness
of gas, or for equipment which is not operating with high duty cycles
- such as on construction sites or generating equipment.
Combifilter can be operated with all types of diesel fuels, and
has been tested and approved by the Energy Savings Trust and Swiss
VERT
Combifilter Arangement
Standard System
The standard system consists of:
A Combifilter
which is mounted in the exhaust system in place of the original
silencer.
An indicator
lamp, which is mounted in the drivers cab and warns of high
back pressure.
A wall mounted
regeneration unit with an air pump and electronics for monitoring
regeneration. The regeneration unit is installed at the vehicles
parking place.
Cables and
hoses for electrical and air supply connections.
A starter disabler
to prevent the vehicle from starting during regeneration.
Exchange System
If the vehicle is operating multiple shifts, or it is difficult
to fit in the time needed to regenerate the filter on a regular
basis, an exchange system with two filters can be used. A clean
filter simply replaces the dirty filter, the dirty filter is then
regenerated on an off-board regeneration station.
Options
AZ diesel oxidation
catalyst for the reduction of gaseous pollutants. The catalyst can
either be built into the filter or mounted separately upstream of
the filter.
A manometer
which continuously monitors the back pressure
Choice of inlet
and outlet sections to meet installation requirements.
Efficiency
The Combifilter effectively removes particulate
(soot) from diesel exhaust and is also a silencer.
Typical reductions are as follows:
Particulate
(soot), PM 96%
Silencing >
15 dB
If the Combifilter is optionally supplied with an AZ-catalyst, gaseous
pollutants are typically removed as follows*:
Carbon monoxide
(CO) 99%
Hydrocarbons
(HC) 96%
*Tested according to ISO 8178
